La Encuesta de Empleo Asalariado es una encuesta federal que se realiza a una muestra de establecimientos que pagan seguro por desempleo. Mediante el programa del seguro por desempleo, el Departamento del Trabajo y Recursos Humanos recopila información administrativa que le permite calcular el empleo asalariado cubierto por el seguro por desempleo, pero solamente con un rezago de 6 a 9 meses. El objetivo de la Encuesta de Empleo Asalariado es producir estimados mas oportunos del empleo asalariado por industria, que permitan conocer mas rápidamente la evolución del empleo asalariado cubierto.
